Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia and perhaps the most exciting. Like all major cosmopolitan cities, KL is busy, has traffic jams and lots of people. Nevertheless, the city is just splendid. Often referred to as the Garden city of lights. KL has a lot to offer to all travelers. KL has many monuments and some of the tallest buildings in the world. Besides large shopping plazas, there are parks, gardens, and bazaars allover the place. Some of the most luxury malls in the orient are found in KL.
While KL may be worth a visit because of its huge buildings, Malacca in contrast is the exact opposite. It has many historic sites including the Portuguese fortress A famosa, the chili red Christ church and the stadhuys-. The town has all the remnants of Dutch architectural
George Town is a small city more famous for its cafes, great cuisine, and ample shopping bazaars. Here one can visit the many temples and churches built decades ago.
In kuching (meaning cat in Malay), this modern city is fast catching up to KL but still retains most of its old charm. The major attraction here is the waterfront, a superb landscape esplanade where tourists gather to watch some of the best sunset over the distant gunug matang.
If you have time, perhaps a visit to the Sabah may also be worthwhile. Here you feel wind dense forestland with its rich diversity of flora and fauna. The kinablau City Bird Sanctuary has thousands of exotic birds
No matter what your likes are, Malaysia has everything. For the naturalist there is more than enough forestland, mangroves and coral reefs that will last a lifetime for the modern day traveler, Malaysia has some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world.
